This workshop focuses primarily on the mindset of an entrepreneur. It paints a mental picture for aspiring entrepreneurs of the process that successful entrepreneurs go through from idea generation to the actual business formation and all the way to financial independence. The factors that are attributable to successful business ventures are discussed. The class also provides the attendees with a business start-up kit "Smart Start." In order to provide real life examples of successful entrepreneurship, this class features an entrepreneur that has been in business for more than five years. The workshop concludes with an overview of the services offered by the SBDC.

The Ohio Small Business Development Center network has partnered with the Council of Smaller Enterprises to create the Small Business Energy Efficiency Program. The program will provide 150 Ohio small businesses with the opportunity to receive education and resources on how to become more energy efficient, access to capital for upgrades from a network of banks, $250 off the price of a comprehensive professional energy audit, and a $200 scholarship towards becoming a certified sustainable business with Green Plus.

This is part 3 of the business plan workshop teaches in detail how to develop financial statements for your plan that make sense to you and the financial lender. You will learn how to capture information from the Income Statement and Balance Sheet, calculate several useful ratios and learn to make business decisions from this information.
