Economic Impact

Impact analysis for Planning (IMPLAN) is an economic modeling system that allows the Ohio SBDC Network to thoroughly study its influence on the state's economy. The Ohio SBDC Network impacts the economy in three ways:

• Direct Impact: The initial effects the SBDC Network has on the local economy through changes in employment and income.
• Indirect Impact: The subsequent increase in purchases from other industries in the local economy due to the direct impact.
• Induced Impact: The increase in purchases of local goods and services by households due to their increased income.
